2 x Handmade Heart Curtain Tie Backs

This listing is for a pair of heart shaped curtain tie backs. Each has been hand cut, and stuffed with recycled filling to make the softly padded shape. 

For these, I chose to use a bright and bold red fabric with white spots. I've handstitched a variety of different sized and types of beads and buttons on the white spots and left the backs plain so you can choose which to display and vary your curtain dressing up a little when you feel like it.

To the top is a silver coloured fancy oval fastening (which was part of a belt) and the fabric suspension "cord" runs through this - it has a rope type effect and is white/cream in colour. I have created two loops at the end to secure the hold back, both whipped, bound and finished with glue for added strength.

The tassels were handmade from threads taken from damaged curtain cord inners and the tassel drops have three beads.

The best thing is that these let me unleash my creativity whilst making use of offcuts and scraps, an outcome of making and repairing recycled curtains!

A diagram as to how tie backs are measured is featured on the last image above to help you decide if the listing meets your needs. All are approximate, but as accurate as possible:

• Heart Widths (slightly pressed down to measure at the widest point): 10.5cm [1]
• Heart Lengths: 11cm [2]
• Bead Drops: 4.5cm [3]
• Tassel Lengths: 10cm [4]
• Tie Back Drop Lengths: 26cm [5]
• Loop Lengths: 4cm [6]
• Cord Diameters 1cm [7] 
• Cord Lengths (from left to right, pulled straight): 40cm [8] These may stretch with use, the cord appears to have some "give".

Curtain tie backs vary greatly in size, so I have given very detailed dimensions above so you can ensure prior to purchase if these tie backs are wide/small enough to gather your fabric effectively. I do create a variety of tie backs with various length cords to try to provide for different projects. There is a lot of information online to help you decide if this is suitable for your needs but it is easy to check by just using a piece of string to measure the length and seeing if this works with your curtain/s. 

Flaws noted: 

The tasssels arent exactly the same, one has some shorter threads in the skirt.

Work carried out:

• All heart curtain tie backs are handmade by me, in Derbyshire, UK. Each single one, or pair is a complete bespoke one-off. I do not repeat my designs. You may find something similar but not the same unless requested for a commission.
• I use reclaimed cords, scraps, threads etc. from curtain fabrics, linings and damaged tie backs to make the main structure. 
• Tassels are often made completely from scratch using salvaged threads, fabrics, ribbons, chain etc. 
• Hearts are either hand sewn or machine stitched - depending on whether they have been made at home, or off-site - then stuffed with preloved cushion inner filling. 
• Tie back cords are either recycled from damaged tassels, or made from scratch using strips of hand-cut material, twisted and braided into place by hand. Tie back ends are whipped/bound using curtain cord offcuts, string or other reclaimed thin cord.
• Hearts are hand embellished with decoration hand picked from an array of vintage and preloved salvaged sequins, beads, broken jewellery pieces etc.

Colour:

• I attempt to represent the colour fairly, but light at the time of taking photographs alters colours and the shade/hue might differ on your screen to mine so please do not expect an exact match, this is impossible. 
• If you are trying to colour match, please contact me PRIOR TO PURCHASE - you are welcome to send a sample of fabric/wallpaper etc and I will photograph it next to/on the the tie back. I can also photograph a RAL international colour fan next to the item if you wish - again, please contact me and I will do this if it is not already on the listing. I offer this as a kindness, without charge, so you can decide if the item is suitable for your needs. Sadly as a tiny business I simply cannot afford to offer a "borrow my item and return it if it is not quite the right shade for my room" service.

Terms of Sale:

• All tassels are handmade from preloved materials and gathered recycled objects. Many are vintage so there may be small or superficial marks from previous use which might be noticed on unpacking, but when hung, these are not usually noticeable. They are checked and any significant  imperfections are photographed/described.
• I try to measure as accurately as possible but all measurements are approximate. 
• Auction listed items are not ended early unless absolutely necessary. 

Shipping:

• Recycled packaging will be used.
• Items are dispatched within 2 days of auction end. If faster shipping is required, please message and I will do my best.
• Items will be sent by Royal Mail depending on the size. 
• I add 80p to each item to pay for purchase of packaging tape, paper, label ink and fuel to drop off as well as packaging time. 
• If you live in the UK but off the mainland, (including Channel and Scottish Isles), please contact me before bidding/purchase for accurate shipping costs as these are sometimes a lot more than standard courier rates. I cannot afford to absorb this extra cost on your behalf. I will do my best to get a reasonable quote and send an invoice for the extra amount if necessary. If you do not do this and expect me to send using quoted mainland prices, I may cancel the order.
• I will ship internationally but only using the Ebay Global Platform. 

Returns:

Simply contact me within 14 days of receipt explaining why you want to return your item along with photographs of the identified discrepancy. If I have made an error, it will be genuine. I try to go the extra mile to photograph and describe things as well as possible, but I'm not perfect and take full responsibility for anything I've missed or overlooked by mistake. 

Equally, I have had buyers very occasionally request returns stating an "item is not as described" when they clearly are. Returns cost small sellers like me a great deal in time and money and doing this is extremely unfair. If you have not read the product description properly (including the two extra complimentary services offered for colour-matching, with all of the accompanying detailed measurements and photos which take me ages to do to aid with purchasing), I will raise this with Ebay customer services as an issue immediately. Ebay is a kind place and we should all treat each other respectfully to keep it a safe place to buy and sell.

I often accept returns for other reasons, but only if customers are pleasant and honest about why. I may offer an exchange instead. 

Agreed returns must be returned in the same condition including all packaging, ribbon and cards by you, within 30 days. If I have made an error then I will pay for the return, if I accept a return for another reason then you remain responsible for the return postage back to me.
