Finally, AI design, which also started with putters, has produced a revolutionary model that turns off-center into the core.
It has been four years since Callaway introduced AI into driver design. Its immense capabilities have finally changed the conventional wisdom of putters.One of the major problems in putting is the loss of ball speed on off-center hits.
It is estimated that a 1 cm deviation of the hitting point from the center results in a loss of about 20%.
After extensive calculations on a supercomputer, a completely new insert with complex ridges on the back that humans could not conceive of was created.
The new model "Ai-ONE putter" equipped with this insert has been able to suppress the loss of rolling motion to about 5%, and in a test conducted by tour players, they all said that they wanted to use it in actual competition right away.
The lineup includes a total of five types, from blades to mallets.
The polycarbonate window that allows the technology to be seen and the newly developed STROKE LAB 90 shaft, made entirely from steel based on feedback from the pros, are also worth mentioning.

[Ball speed decreases dramatically less!One of the problems in putting is the loss of ball speed when an off-center hit is made. Data shows that a 1cm shift in the toe or heel of the hitting point can reduce ball speed by approximately 20%, which means that a 10m putt, for example, will be 2m short. In order to solve this problem, Odyssey has introduced a new AI design, which has already been used to great effect in Callaway's face technology. We have developed an insert that reduces the reduction in ball speed by approximately 5% (50 cm in 10 m) even if the hitting point is off by 1 cm, resulting in the new Ai-ONE putter model.
Feel is equivalent to that of the White Hot Insert.
The insert in the "Ai-ONE Putter" consists of an aluminum portion with complex ridges designed by AI and a resin portion on the impacting surface. Initially, Odyssey considered using only resin to make the insert with AI-designed ridges, but ran into the wall of difficulty in reproducing the complex shape. What emerged was the idea of using aluminum, which AI had initially recommended as a material, in combination. Aluminum had been abandoned due to durability issues, but we were able to overcome this problem by combining it with resin, and commercialization of the product was realized. The grooves on the face surface of the resin are intended to approximate the feel and sound of the white hot insert, and the actual feel is on the same level as the white hot insert.

Each head of the Ai-ONE putters also introduces a treatment not found on previous clubs and putters that allows the player to enjoy more technological differences. A transparent polycarbonate window is placed on the back face for the blade type and on the sole for the mallet type. Through this window, the intricate ridges of the AI design formed on the backside of the inserts can be seen.

The body with AI inserts is made of stainless steel, and the head is finished in dark blue PVD. In addition, to increase the moment of inertia, screw weights of approximately 15g each have been placed on the toe and heel of the sole. The Ai-ONE putter lineup consists of a total of five types. The lineup includes the #1 blade, the DOUBLE WIDE DB with a wide blade and double-bent neck, the ROSSIE S with a mallet head and short slant neck, the #7 S with an antler-shaped head and short slant neck, and the #7 CH The new "ROSSIE S" has a horn-shaped head with a short slant neck.

Odyssey's proprietary STROKE LAB shafts have also been redesigned to match the Ai-ONE putters. The previous version was a steel and carbon composite shaft, but while tour players said they still preferred the steel shaft, there was feedback that they wanted the stability of the STROKE LAB shaft as well. The new STROKE LAB 90 shaft is a lightweight steel shaft weighing in the 90g range, while the butt section is the same thickness as the conventional STROKE LAB shaft, which reduces torque. This prevents unnecessary movement of the shaft during the stroke. A counterweight is also mounted inside the shaft on the hand side, enhancing the putter's overall moment of inertia during the stroke.
