This is the one. Barbour Dept B COMMANDER (not the later produced Beacon Sports Jacket). Do see the inside pocket label ‘COMMANDER’ MWX0007NY92 from September 2013 dated 9/13 in the label. This was part of the Barbour limited edition pre-production made in preparation for the release of Skyfall later that Autumn 2013. A very rare and sought after jacket in size small in the alternate and strictly limited NAVY colour.

Based upon the one worn by Daniel Craig as Bond 007 in Skyfall. This is the DEPT B jacket, certainly not the recent common remake. Very hard to source today.

CONDITION

Sold as USED. It has been worn and is in VERY good condition considering it is 10 years old. It is in solid shape and in good LIGHTLY WORN pre loved used condition. Still deep in navy colour and fabric still sufficiently retains the original factory applied wax. No need for a first wax any time soon in my opinion. This is in great original condition. Dark navy and without any significant areas of fade that goes to show just how little use it has had. It has been OCCASIONALLY used so may show some signs areas of wear so do bear this in mind, but no significant areas of concern. Also, the inner chest care label still shows BARBOUR lettering in bright gold, which is one of the first areas to wear away after prolonged use demonstrating it has not been worn much. This jacket was made to last with real leather trims, sturdy wax outer, tweed trims and tartan lining. Real craftsmanship designed to last a lifetime. Photos are of the actual jacket for sale so please check them carefully. Rarely worn and is yet to establish that renowned Barbour patina to the jacket, that will be something for the buyer to enjoy creating over the years. As you will know, Barbour jackets are supposed to develop an aesthetically pleasing patina over time and that is how these waxed jackets are intended to progress. However, owners may also choose to apply their own Barbour thornproof wax at intervals over the years if they want to successfully achieve the original ‘factory finished’ look. This jacket is meant to be a personal investment that will serve the owner for a lifetime. Barbour for life.

SIZING

Labelled as a SMALL. As with the other incarnations and versions of this jacket, it is slim fitting and designed to be close fitting. You are not supposed to wear lots of layers underneath. It's like wearing a tailored suit jacket. Please see the tape measurements on the photos.

The coveted 'Skyfall' crafted with precision by Barbour's Dept (B) division. First seen in the James Bond release the 'Skyfall' jacket heralded unprecedented interest from both 007 fans and Barbour's hardened afficanados. As in Commander Bond, the commander jacket is a well-tailored sports jacket that perfectly combines urbane styling with Barbour’s rich country heritage. Made from 6oz Sylkoil waxed cotton the Commander jacket offers protection from the elements to add trademark Barbour functionality along with cool elegant style. To finish off the look Barbour has lined the jacket with the ever-recognizable Barbour Tartan giving it a classic look and feel.

The small details are what really separate this jacket from the rest; soft leather bound cuffs and collar lining, 8oz waxed cotton elbow pads and shoulders and tweed insert detailing inside the jacket show how Barbour have turned functional elements into stylish fashion details.

In terms of silhouette the piece straddles elements of a formal blazer and a casual hunting jacket but in terms of capability it is thoroughly multi-functional. As well as a number of exterior equipment pockets it also features a poachers pocket positioned comfortably to the rear. As well as these design features the thorn proof body is also treated with a waxed finish to resist moisture. A modern take on archived hunting apparel.
