One might assume this watch was " borrowed" from the US Navy and not returned as at some stage over the last 82 years someone has scratched off the broad arrow on the dial , sanded off the engravings on the case back and tried to scratch off the engraved US Navy BU SHIPS ( US Navy Bureau of Ships ) on the movement .......

On the upside the beautiful clean movement is running at minus 5 seconds a day .... not bad for a watch of this age ......

This open face Hamilton pocket watch has a 51.6mm plated case with screw down bezel and case back . The white enamel dial is in good condition except where the military arrow has been scratched off , there are a few specks of the black arrow still visible , signed Hamilton in the middle of the dial ...... pristine blued hands ,  centre seconds hand with long counter balance . As mentioned the case back has been filed/sanded down at some stage , you can still faintly make out bits of the original engravings . Inside the case back it says Keystone Base Metal 1352689 .

The movement is in beautiful clean condition , no idea when it was last serviced though . Signed Hamilton Watch Co. U.S.A. ,  3992-B , 22 Jewels , US NAVY BU SHIPS and a broad arrow ..... as mentioned this bit of the engraving has been scratched but is still clearly visable ..... ADJ. TEMP. AND 6 POSITIONS , 3C698 ....... the movement hacks when the crown is pulled up and the seconds hand stops as it should so you can accurately set the time ..... the movement ticks away nicely and as mentioned is running at about minus 5 seconds per 24 hours ..........

The crown looks like the original one but the bow has been replaced at some stage . There is a little chip to the crystal at the bottom ........
