This is one of a series of Black Label Dolby B encoded recordings, really excellent and much improved from some London / Ampex duplications that seemed to have been done on decks that needed recalibrating.
I think part of the improvement was the better tape stock that was available at the end of the tape era - this looks and sounds like Scotch 203, but we know Ampex wouldn't use that. The tape stock is not back-treated and will not go sticky. It does seem to have a tendency to behave as if it were staticy, but doesn't shed at all.
This is Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, performed by Georg Solti conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
It is on London LON E 46885 recorded in 4 track Stereo, Dolby encoded at 7 1/2 ips.
