FWD Model B 3-ton Lorry American truck

The FWD Model B is an American truck from the First World War and the interwar period. The first copies of this car appeared in 1912, and serial production began in the same year and lasted until the early 1930s. The drive was provided by a single 55 HP Wisconsin engine.

Business Four Wheel Drive Auto Company (FWD for short) was established in 1909 and three years later it developed a very successful truck - model B. This car was initially dedicated to the civil market. It was characterized by a solid workmanship, good driving characteristics and - above all - a four-wheel drive. With the outbreak of World War I, cars of this type were largely exported, primarily to Great Britain. When the United States joined the war, the armed forces of that country also decided to purchase large amounts FWD Model B to be shipped to Europe. Due to the growing number of orders, the FWD factory has transferred some of its production to plants, including: Premier and Kissel. Licensed production was also undertaken in Great Britain. After 1918, a limited number of these cars also found their way to Poland
