Antique Jaeger & Co Cup & Saucer with Raised Enamel Jewels, Elaborate Gilding, Art Deco

FACTORY:  Jaeger & Co. peacock mark on cup, with "JAEGER PORZELLAN, Nymphenburg handmalerei, Dec" addition on the saucer.
**Jaeger & Co (1872-1986) located Marktredwitz, Bavaria, Germany.
Founded in 1872, the company initially started as a small decoration business. In 1898, the company became Porzellanfabrik Marktredwitz, Jaeger & Co., employing 400 workers by 1913. In 1979, the factory was sold to the Sebring company in Italy, which was part of the “Tognana Group”. In 1935, Jaeger opened its flagship store on Regent Street. Despite its rich history, the Jaeger Factory closed in 1986.

Size : Cup - 6.5 cm diameter / high - 4 cm . Saucer: 11.8 cm diameter.

Condition : Excellent condition with minor imperfect on white enamel, no cracks/hairlines/restorations/chips/stain. There is a white enamel missing on the saucer ( 14th photo), hardly noticeable. Some white enamel imperfect on the cup, mainly on the both sides of the handle ( 10th photo).

A stunning and beautiful Jaeger & Co. cup & saucer. The cup and the saucer are decorated with raised white enamel line, turquoise and red dots, gilding flowers and flowing relief gold line, on matte black ground. The raised gold ornaments and raised white enamel line are extraordinarily bright under light, very gorgeous. The interior of the cup and the handle are richly gilded. They are truly a magnificent set of cup and saucer.
