Barbara CISSI COLLECTION: Style 53561.  The bra has a preformed cup, covered in sheer blue mesh, with beautiful open flowers in blue and ivory with gold stems and leaves and a darker blue lacy frill over the top of the cups, and some of these frills run across the mesh.  The mesh is matte and the embroidery threads have a satin sheen which catches the light.   Each bra looks different depending where they cut the embroidered fabric, but they are all beautiful.

THE CUPS

The underwired, preformed balconette bra has a three sectioned cup inside, with covered seams.  The outside of the cups are covered with blue mesh.  The movement in the floral patterns helps to disguise the two darts in each cup which help shape the fabric over the cups.  The embroidered flowers and leaves also cover part of the underwires and these are picked out with blue stitching.  The mesh and some of the petals just rise over the top edge of the cups inside, leaving soft shapes against the skin.   There is no under band to this bra but a double layer of blue fabric joins the two underwires together.  A lucky silver shoe charm is sewn to the outside of the blue fabric, hanging downwards.

THE WINGS, BACK AND FASTENING OF THE BRA:

The wings and back are unlined, in sheer blue mesh, embroidered with a smoky blue repeat picture frames with a single flower in the centre.  The wings back and under-arm section of the cups are all edged inside with flat blue elastic with a wavy satin trim which shows outside the folded in fabric.  The two are secured to each other with large blue zig-zag stitching.  The back fastens with three single rows of blue hooks and eyes on blue fabric.

THE STRAPS:

The double front straps are in oval blue elastic with with a subtle sheen, sewn together inside the top of the preformed inner cups and rising over the shoulder to loop through a blue ring.  The back straps are in a similar width flat blue elastic but its satin sheen shows as well as the fine satin band running up either side, like two narrow borders. These back straps loop through the top ring and adjust downwards with a blue metal butterfly slider.  The bottom of the back elastic straps are sewn inside top and bottom flat elastic, edging the inside of the wings and back. 

The exact material of the bra is made of 50%Polyamide, 29%Polyester, 12%Viscose, 9%Elastane.   It is a joyful, summery bra, supportive and lucky with its shoe charm.   The retail price was £45.00.   New and unused.  This may be machine or hand washed at 40 degrees, no ironing, no bleach, line dry.
