It is very hard to read but this is my best shot.

Winchester  March 19, 1858

Dear....I received your letter and made some ... but cannot find anything about the claim of Snuff against you.

Maybe(?) you can come nearer to the time than two years. It is like looking for a needle in a haystack to look over our collection book for the years 1853/54 - If you can come near of time I will look into our collection book fully about the time.
