Hello,

I am selling a complete turnkey 1998 Bayliner Ciera 2858 boat.

Here’s a brief history about the boat and I believe in honesty for the buyer to know the history of the boat:

The boat was owned by Eric Batrum, and I bought the boat from Batrum family after Eric passed away. I thought I was getting a good running boat from Batrum family because they service boats. Unfortunately, it did not happen, 4 deaf guys including myself took the boat out for our first fishing trip at Morro Bay. The weather was foggy and wet, so the deck gauges was fogged up. About a mile out from the rock I smelled coolant and stopped the boat. The coolant was not circulating inside the engine, it was flushing out the coolant, caused the motor to overheat, the motor froze, and I had the boat towed back to the slip. It was a bummer and four of us couldn’t hear the alarm blasting when it was overheating. So, I asked Tim Batrum to check the problem, and he told me to take the boat to another shop.

I was pretty upset however I took the Boat to Scott’s Boat Repair which is owned by Mike Hollinger. He was very helpful and got the motor rebuilt. He and his mechanic had a hard time figuring out why the motor still runs hot after the engine was rebuilt. We test drove at the lake and finally they found the problem. The hoses, gaskets, and other parts were not attached correctly. Th mechanic had to reconnect to the factory setting and bingo! The motor runs well and is like a brand-new motor with more horsepower after being bored. You can contact Mike Hollinger to get detailed information. I have invoices of the repair.

The tires, master cylinder, bunks, bow roller have been replaced by Batrum when I bought the boat. The top covers came with the boat, and I just had the windows cover replaced by Central Coat Upholstery. I have done a lot of work on the boat adding new led lights on all sides, new batteries, shampooed carpet, upholstery, added fishing rod holder on the door, new switches, ignition switch kill, Hydro Shield, meets VSC (Vessel Safety Check), and many more. I included everything on the boat shown in the photos. It has a bracket to carry kayak and paddle board. The boat is fully loaded and ready for a fishing trip. I don’t have the time to use the boat and it takes a team to use the boat.

It's a great strong boat and comfortable up to 4 people. I well maintained the boat when its not in use. If you want a boat that you can trust, and this is the boat you want from an honest seller. The boat comes with all documents, invoices, two set of keys, and clean title for boat and trailer. The boat LOA is 32'4" and the beam is 9' 10". You will see the water line on the boat. I have created 17 minutes long video of the boat on the water, engine running, anchor dropping, and full photos instead of collate photos.

I spoke with my boat mechanic about the warranty or the engine. He said the warranty is transferable to a new owner for one year.
You may contact Mike at Scott's Boat Repair if you have questions about the motor. I have invoices of the repairs.
