You can use this player for US and Japan region Gamecube console. However, you need the Start Up disc that matches your console's region. For example, you need US Start up disc for US GameCube console and Japanese Start up disc for Japanese GameCube Console. Gameboy games are region free so gameboy games region will not matter.
