Silver Topped Papier-mâché Box - Boots Pure Drug Company - Chester - 1905
Papier-mâché, frequently written as paper Mache, is a composite
material consisting of paper pieces or pulp, sometimes reinforced
with textiles, and bound with an adhesive, such as glue, starch,
or wallpaper paste.
This is a lovely vintage piece but not in the best condition
Suspect would be part of a traveling Set.
Silver top is by Boots Pure Drug Company
Boots was founded in Nottingham, England by John Boot who
opened his original shop in 1849. The company was transformed
into a national chain by his son Jesse in the 1870s and for the first time
they became official dispensing chemist, stocking prescription medicines.
Boots now has almost one thousand five hundred stores including some
stores overseas. The Alliance Boots group in total has nearly 3,000 stores.

They Produced Basket, button hook, card case, dressing table set,
jar top, match box holder, sovereign case, stamp case, vesta etc

The box has issues and is 9cm x 4cm x 2.5cm
Ideal for jewellery at the end of the day.
