DESCRIPTION: please look at all pictures carefully and closely they are part of the description and it’s very important that you know everything about this item. The bubbles doll was made in different versions with different features so I’m going to explain all the features about this doll ;this doll has a composition, head and “yoke”now that means that the arms are attached to the section underneath the head, and the head cannot move at all, but the arms are attached through the yoke by a spring ,I will have more details for that later. she has green metal sleep, eyes that open and close easily, and you see her painted upper eyelashes and her painted eyebrows.( to note, the eyelashes and eyebrows have been touched up.) she has an open mouth, showing two upper teeth a partial felt tongue and a molded tongue to the bottom lip. she has dimples in her pudgy cheeks and definitions under her eyes, and on each side of her mouth. she has wavy blonde painted molded hair.(her hair was touched up also) on the back of the yoke ,which is the section under her head, is where it is marked EFFANBEE/BUBBLES/Copr. 1924/MADE IN USA. she has bent full composition, arms that are joined at the shoulders of the yolk, with the spring that goes all the way through to the other arm. her left hand the fingers are spread out and her forefinger is pointed straight up towards her mouth, and her thumb is folded into the center of her palm. this is set up so you can move her arm and point it towards her mouth so she’s putting her finger in her mouth. The spring is tight enough to hold the arms in place. her right arm does move up and down and like I said will stay in its position. The yoke is then wired on to the cloth body. she has bent, curved composition legs to just above the knees, and then they are wired on to a cloth section that is attached to the hips of the body with hidden discs. she has a well stuffed bottom so she sits comfortably. speaking of her cloth body it is in very good shape for the age there’s only a couple locations where there’s a few little dots that are stains, I do not know what from. when you pick her up and rock her forward slowly her crier actually sounds like mommy. she comes to you dressed in her light, pink cotton, sheer dress trimmed in lace. underneath the dress she is wearing a full slip. on her head, she wears her sheer cotton bonnet that is also trimmed in lace on the interior of the brim and believe it or not it is also very light pink. You probably can’t see it in the pictures. on her feet she is wearing her vintage socks and her vintage shoes. if I have missed anything or if you have any questions, please contact me before the auction is over I will get back to you.
