Thrifting find. Before you fall too hard for these fab shoes, please note that the crepe soles are trashed and will need to be replaced. Vintage, 1970s men's funky, color block midtop saddle shoes or oxfords. Made by Towncraft, a JC Penney brand. Marked size 9 D. All leather uppers, with a dark blue suede saddle, red suede heels and cap toes, and white leather tongue and vamp. Unusual suede loop eyelets. The black and white braided laces are a bit long and are likely not original. The insides are pretty clean and in decent condition for age. Old price sticker still inside. There are creases and a few light tan stains on the white leather parts, but overall, the uppers, especially the blue and red suede parts, look pretty good. Now, about the crepe soles: they have not survived well at all. They are worn, sticky, dirty (despite my efforts to scrub them) stained, and nasty looking. I wonder if the original owner stepped in hot asphalt or something. At any rate, the shoes will need new soles, but what a fantastic pair of groovy retro shoes you'll have then, to enjoy for many years to come. Please take a look at the photos, and let me know if you have any questions. Shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. Thanks for looking.
