Featured here is an antique Persian Empire Iznik Qajar tile of a hunting man on horseback. Painted and glazed in bright colors enigmatic of the art during the Qajar Dynasty, this tile was produced in the latter half of the 19th century, likely in Iznik, Turkey. The image consists of a man on horseback jumping through a meadow, chasing a deer with a sword. There are flowers and tones of green, purple, yellow, pink, and blue, bright colors as if it were made yesterday, though it was made in the 1800’s.

As to condition, it has crazing on the glaze, as well as a chip on the backside, and possibly that’s a repair to the back corner where you see the white in photo, and there’s some roughness to the edges. To be expected of an aged antique tile. See pictures for closer detail.

Measures about 9.5" x 15" and just under an inch thick. Weighs 7 lbs 3 oz prior to packaging.
