The Flounder by Gunter Grass - Written, Illustrated and signed by Gunter Grass.

The book's design and image placement were executed by Ben Shift, with plates for the images crafted by Carl Schiitte & C. Bchling in Berlin. The relief plates were letterpress printed by David Wolfe at The Anthoensen Press. Each image was printed from two plates, with a flat back, ground plate in a transparent green tint and the image plate overprinted in black. The text, set in Monotype Poliphilus and Blado, was skillfully printed in two colors—oxblood and black—by Daniel Keleher at Wild Carrot Letterpress. The blue/grey paper for this edition was specially made at Mohawk Paper Mills in Cohoes, New York.

A. Horowitz and Sons handled the folding, collating, sewing, rounding, and backing of the sheets. The covers, featuring natural eelskin spines and Italian bookcloth on the boards, were crafted at Jovonis Bookbindery. The bookblocks were cased in at Jovonis Bookbindery, where the slipcases were also made.
