Epiphone has once again teamed up with Gibson Custom Shop to create the Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird V. The Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird V is an authentic replica of the original model designed by legendary automobile designer Ray Dietrich.
The Firebird, introduced in 1963, was Gibson's first neck-through-body model. It was used by players of various genres, including blues legend Johnny Winter, Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, Brian Jones, Eric Clapton, and Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music.
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1963 Firebird V inherits the specifications of the vintage Firebird while being released at an affordable price. Adopts a 9-layer neck-through body structure made of mahogany and walnut, and is equipped with mahogany body wings on the left and right sides. A Krewson planetary banjo tuner secures the strings on the headstock side, and on the body side, the Epiphone ABR bridge and Maestro Vibrola engraved with the Epiphone logo hold the strings in place for outstanding sustain. In addition, while following the refined and simple specifications of the vintage 1963 Firebird V, the electronics section employs a group of authentic parts. Equipped with Gibson USA Firebird Mini Humbucker pickups with Alnico 5 magnets, CTS potentiometers, Mallory capacitors, Switchcraft 3-way pickup selector switch, and Switchcraft 1/4" output jack. Classic Firebird V It is the best finish not only in terms of looks but also in terms of sound.Comes with an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom hard shell case.
