Hello and 73, to all my HF Radio Enthusiasts!

My name is Dave (KD8UPO) and I am an HF radio nut and full-time "RV-Lifer", traveling around and living out of my RV.

Long story short; I decided to develop; portable, fun and fully functional HF antenna and baluns. I got so tired of building or buying ugly/boring "Grey Ghost" balun boxes! Or one of those boring Altoid tins! Or better yet, that attractive ginormous "Ugly Balun" hanging 20ft in the air for all to see; bet the spouse loves that!!

So I sat down and decided to develop the most unique baluns around (more to come, stay tuned...for "The Owl"), that work as good, if not better, than any "Grey Ghost" out there!!

And here it is: "The Hobo"  1:1 Balun/Choke! Imagine taking this crazy looking thing to your next Hamfest or Field Day? I warn you though, be prepared to be the talk of the day, with this thing in your pocket!! Or hanging 20ft in the air ;)

The Hobo, comes with 18AWG Enameled Copper Wire, that's wrapped around an FT-140-xx (x=your choice of mix 43, 61 or 77) Ferrite Toroid (sourced from the U.K.), leading to two isolated binding posts and an SO239 (or BNC, optional)  adapter. All of the outside connections are sealed and the entire can is coated in an invisible UV resistant/ waterproofing agent. And finally each one is tested with attenuation listed above in pictures.

Note: You can request either BNC or SO239 's and optional location out the back or on the bottom like picture. Upon purchase I will send you a message asking for your choices of adapter, toroid and location.
