Sapphirine glass and Saphiret glass are often categorized together but there is a difference between the two.

Saphiret (sapphiret) glass is a highly collectable glass stone used in jewelry in the mid to late 19th century. The glass was initially made in Gablonz, a region of Bohemia (Now the Czech Republic), and Germany, as well as several other European countries. The stones are known for the color changes from a mauve brown to aqua blue which reflects an iridescence or soft blue glow when exposed to light. Saphiret glass was made by mixing melted gold into a sapphire blue colored glass. The cost of gold over the years led to the termination of its manufacture
