Unfortunately because this item is so well built, it is enclosed in a steel case and as such it weighs in excess of 16 KG. This vintage Navigational Control Equipment is unbranded, the only thing known about it is that it was made in the USA.
It appears to be an unknown possibly early computerised Satnav or GPS control system? It has a floppy disk loading system and seems to be controlled by an 'ALCATEL' A1020B Field Programmable Gate Array Chip. (FPGA). (See pictures).
Believed to be ex-Mod removed from a ship, it appears to work from low voltage DC. although it has not been powered up as I don't have a suitable power plug. Sold as seen for parts only.
