I think this is an baseball trade card from the 1880s featuring a colorful illustration of a fly.

I have had a difficult time tracking down info here.  From the webb search... advertising could be from 1870-1919 or even 1900 - 1950 (from another source). using the caricature of a baseball player.  Looks like other stores used the image as well.

I believe the card was and advertisement for  card Geo. F. Ropes & Co., Apothecaries.  Located 214 Essex Street, Salem, Mass.

The 1st two pictures are of the actual card for sale... the 3rd picture in the listing (without the 4 stickers) is from searching the public domain of images.

I'm sorry that I can not provide more details.  I found it in a large lot of old sports trading cards and memorabilia.

Card comes in a hard top loader / plastic envelope.

Note - there are 4 small "stickers" on the rear of the card - see picture.

:On the front of the card it states: "A card for every customer at our store, large or small."

On the reverse of the card it states:

"WE SELL THE BEST
BEEF, WINE AND IR???
BY THE BOTTLE OR PINT."

"XXXX Largest and Strongest Bottle
-of-
JAMACIA GINGER FOR 25C."

NOTE - I THINK THE WORD IS "JAMICA"
