Very large original oil painting on board, depicting a sitting room interior, with a grandfather clock and Chesterfield sofa, positioned between a chest of drawers with a gramophone on top, and a table with a wine decanter, glass of wine and candlestick on top.  This quirky original still life painting is by the British artist Colin Ruffell (b.1939 ), and is a classic example of his naive style work.

Colin Ruffell qualified from two Art Colleges in painting and was one of the first British art-students to use acrylics. He initially sold his works door to door while working as an art teacher, before becoming a full-time artist in 1965. He pursued a variety of ways of selling his paintings, including touring the country with G-Plan furniture selling to furniture stores, exhibiting at the Birmingham Spring Fair and the Bayswater Road art exhibition in London, selling through art galleries as well as collecting hundreds of regular private collectors along the way. He has exhibited widely across the globe and his works feature in private and corporate collections worldwide.
