Victorian era French mantel clock made by Japy Freres with two train 8 day movement striking on a bell. The ebonised wood case with (faded) ormolu mounts featuring caryatids to the corners. Offered to restore.

The clock strikes once on the half and number of hours on the hour. The time side main spring winds but doesn't hold the tension - the click needs looking at (easy).

The case is in okay condition. The ormolu mounts would look a bit better after polishing! Porcelain dial dirty and repair to right winding hole, original hands and bevel glass to the bezel.

Weighs 2.4kg before wrapping. The clock stands 10.75" (27cm) high with the handle raised, 7" (18cm) wide and 5.25" (13.5cm) deep. The dial is 4" diameter.
