A little history :

Berthier carabiners and rifles constitute a coherent set of armaments based on the Mannlicher loading mechanism on a Lebel model 1886 base for the French army from 1890 and which took part in the Great War, the Rif War, the World War II, Indochina War and Algerian War.

Superb and beautiful bayonet / short saber called '' Berthier '' for French Berthier rifle. Wooden handle with a decoration in the shape of a Catholic believe (?), nice work of a sliced hairy (rare). Blade marked on the heel '' B in a diamond '' + '' B C F 16385 '' on the scabbard. Shiny blade, in superb condition, with a central fuller! (rare in this condition). Very beautiful piece, very pleasant to hold in hands and even more to observe in the window! 100% original ! ! !
