For sale is a beautiful Victorian-era, hand-blown cranberry or light ruby opalescent hobnail glass pitcher/jug that is 7" tall and 8" at the widest point.  It holds approximately 48 fl oz (6 cups), give or take. The hobs have little dots of opalescence at the tips, giving this a very interesting and appealing tool.

Now this came from the same collection of Hobb Brockunier & Co glass that I've been posting and selling many other items from, but I don't think this is Hobbs - the hobnails are different, as is the bottom, and I don't think Hobbs did reeded handles all that much, if at all.  So, exact vintage and origin are a bit of a mystery.

The glass does flourcesce green under UV light - a bit moreso than I was able to capture in the photo, but you can see the handle lit up pretty well.  The glass is in fantastic condition - I could find no cracks or chips anywhere...just some normal wear on the bottom.
