Bacon, Beans 'N Brave Hearts by Russell R. Walker
The cover art (wraps-around) by Irene Ronayne shows the office of the North Coast Land Co.
Russell Walker wrote this history of Prince George in his 85th year. In
1910 he opened the first land office in what was then called Fort
George. He was the publisher and editor of the first newspaper - the
Fort George Herald and he wrote the first magazine article ever
published about the city.
Bacon, Beans and Brave Hearts was published by his old friends the
Murrays of Lillooet, believing that the great interior city of Prince
George will be greater yet by recalling its brave beginnings. Filled
with old photographs including an unusual and interesting fold out
panoramic picture of the Fort George area taken by the author in May
1911.
Includes info on Fort George Canyon, Parsnip River, White's Landing
Creek, Big Eddy, Ashcroft, cottonwood canoe, and Billy Thorne.
