This set appears to have been made by a group, perhaps of students, as individual figures have names and dates carved in them. See pictures. Appears to have been handcrafted in 1981 as per the dates carved into the figures.
This is a stunning set despite the chipping and condition issues.

There are 32 pieces as required in a chess set. All figures shown in the picture and are 'as is'. This has been on display in our home and is beautiful. They are beautifully painted in blues, yellows, and red tones.
Please note there are condition issues and chipping on a good amount of the figures in various degrees.
