According to her obituary on the Legacy website, Alice Q. Reichard worked as a professional astrologist in Studio City California for many years.  According to her family, she anonymously authored many of the "Starscrolls" popular in arcades and amusement parks. Starscrolls are small broadsides measuring about 12" x 2", rolled in plastic film and dispensed from vending machines.   Curious people would put a quarter in the Starscroll machine and receive a scroll intended for their zodiac sign that contains lucky numbers, lucky colors, and a long astrological type narrative of what's going on.
