DESCRIPTION:

This rare volume is a 208-year-old guide to the secret ceremonies, teachings, symbols and emblems of Freemasonry. I have sold many Freemasonry books over the years, but this is by far the earliest Freemason’s Monitor I have ever acquired.

FROM THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE WORLD, WE MAY TRACE THE FOUNDATION OF FREEMASONRY. EVER SINCE SYMMETRY BEGAN, AND HARMONY DISPLAYED HER CHARMS, THE ORDER HAS HAD A BEING. DURING MANY AGES, AND IN MANY DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, IT HAS FLOURISHED. IN THE DARK PERIODS OF ANTIQUITY, WHEN LITERATURE WAS IN A LOW STATE, AND THE RUDE MANNERS OF OUR FOREFATHERS WITHHELD FROM THEM THAT KNOWLEDGE NOW MASTERED BY SO MANY, FREEMASONRY DIFFUSED ITS INFLUENCE. FREEMASONRY REVEALED ITSELF TO THE WORLD IN LONDON IN 1717, BUT ITS MYSTERIOUS SYMBOLS AND RITUALS HAD BEEN USED IN SECRET FOR CENTURIES. ONCE REVEALED, FREEMASONRY QUICKLY SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AND ATTRACTED KINGS, EMPERORS, AND STATESMEN TO TAKE ITS SACRED OATHS. IT ALSO FOUND MANY OPPONENTS, INCLUDING PERHAPS ITS GREATEST ENEMY, THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. FREEMASONRY IS A WORLDWIDE SCIENCE CONFINED TO NO PARTICULAR COUNTRY. WHEREVER ARTS FLOURISH, THERE FREEMASONRY FLOURISHES TOO. ADD TO THIS, THAT BY SECRET AND INVIOLABLE SIGNS, CAREFULLY PRESERVED AMONG THE FRATERNITY THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, MASONRY BECOMES A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE THAT TRANSCENDS CULTURAL DIFFERENCES. THUS, THROUGH THE INFLUENCE OF MASONRY, WHICH IS RECONCILABLE TO THE BEST POLICY, ALL THE DISPUTES WHICH EMBITTER LIFE AND SOUR THE TEMPERS OF MEN ARE AVOIDED; WHILE THE COMMON GOOD, WHICH IS THE GENERAL DESIGN OF THE CRAFT, IS ZEALOUSLY PURSUED.

DO NOT MISS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO OWN THIS RARE 208-YEAR-OLD VAULT OF ANCIENT MASONIC WISDOM AND RITUAL!!!
