This is a lovely looking woman's ethnic costume from the middle of the XX century. It is from the eastern Slavishte region in the north east part of Macedonia. Also it was familiar woman's ethnic costume to the closest villages on the border of Macedonia wit Bulgaria (Kustendil) and Serbia (Bosilegrad).
The costume, all of its pieces are kept in a very good condition for their age. The most noticeable piece of the costume is the long, heavy woolen kaftan dress - known as 'saja', decorated with beautiful hand embroidery at the sleeves. The costume also includes headscarf, waist towel, belt, dress, apron.
