Amazing Original Production Drawing of Princess Daphne from the end of the game, as well as the OPENING SEQUENCE (or Main Title) of the Dragon's Lair (1983) arcade game. This drawing was transferred onto a cel and painted to make the image seen on screen, in which Daphne grabs her arm and cries out upon seeing Dirk escape a close call with Singe. The image was also used in the only sequence of Daphne in the Attract Mode, which beckoned gamers in a booming voice to become a valiant knight by pumping their 50 cents in the machine. As indicated on the sequence numbers written on this sheet, there are just 10 drawings in this part of the sequence numbered from 19-31, with some gaps (20,28,30). This drawing is #19 in the sequence, and therefore is the first drawing of the segment.

Most players never even got close to Singe's lair, and the Attract Mode was the only time they saw Daphne on screen. It would be no exaggeration to say that tens of millions of people saw this image in arcades back in the 1980s. But when this sequence appeared in the first episode of Stranger Things Season 2, in the Palace Arcade where Dustin loses on the final stage, the number of people who saw this image of Daphne likely catapulted into the hundreds of millions.

Additionally this drawing was hand-signed in silver marker by the legend himself, Don Bluth, at MegaCon this year. The signature was authenticated on site by JSA. But the picture that will be provided of Don Bluth signing the piece is better proof than any authentication.

This art is an important part of both cartoon AND video game history and is fit for a museum. The Smithsonian owns just 3 arcade games for its arcade exhibit, and Dragon's Lair is one of them (the others are Pac-Man and Pong). Drawing measures 12.5" x 10.5" and is in excellent condition. JSA CoA included.
