ABOUT THIS COPY AND IT’S CONDITION

This copy of SHAZAM! #1 looks pretty great…

While the comic book hasn’t been professionally graded, I would classify it’s condition as VF+ to NM.

Approximately 49 years ago, I personally bought this issue the day it arrived new. By the time I found the best copy in the bunch bought it, took it home, and after skimming the issue (& admiring the beautful C.C. Beck artwork. I honestly didn’t read it, and only bought it because it was an #1, and I thought the cover art rocked), I placed it inside a comic book bag, where it’s remained till today when I removed it to photograph it for this auction. Intially after removing it, at first glance I thought the comic book looked as close to Mint as possible, and as pretty as the day I bought it new (it looks that good).

BUT with further inspection I noticed 2 things which turns the book from Mint to VF+ to NM.

A) The most obivous are the stress lines I noticed alone the spine of the front cover. No cracks, or rips or creases…

B) The only other thing I noticed (I actually discovered it after I photographed the front cover and went what’s that?, and then looked at the cover again and went oh, there it is…. Not sure what it is, but there seems to be small stain (?)   or something  (it’s located inside and slightly below the good Captain’s White cape with yellow trim.), I checked and whatever it is, can not be seen on the inside front cover…

That’s it.  Other then that, the book looks practically new. The paper even still looks practically white inside…

After I photographed the comic, I then placed it inside a new comic book and added a new backing board, and then placed it inside a second new comic book bag. This way the comic is doubly protected for it’s journey.  I then finished photographing the comic book, this timer showcasing the double bagged comic again for this auction. Currently I have the  newly rebagged comic with my other comics that are also on auction, awaiting the day I have to say goodbye, once some lovely person wins it at auction.

PLEASE CHECK OUT ALL PHOTOS AND SCANS

All of my sales are final, so, please check out the attached photos, and if you have any questions ask before bidding. Much appreciated. Life is so much simpler…

AND CHECK OUT MY FEEDBACK

It’s funny, my packaging sometimes gets better reviews then the items I have up for auction, once received. Unlike some dealers I’ve dealt with, who ship their comics without bags, or backing board, or any packaging at all (except the outside manila envelope) I wish I was kidding, I treasure these comic books probably more then I should, and I will miss each and every one of them once they are gone, even the ones I never read. And if you hadn’t guess by now, if I had read them, the comic still looks unread and untouched…

HOW I PACKAGE ‘YOUR’ WINNING ITEM FOR SHIPPING: I personally package each comic book, and pride myself in making sure the book arrives in the exact condition (good or bad), that is featured in the photographs supplied for you to peruse. Currently I ship using the GEMINI comic mailer, I sandwich the double bagged comic, between two sheets of double weight corrugated cardboard, or two sheets of foamcore, taped together. Then I secure that to the inside of the GEMINI, then I seal the mailer, making sure to tape all sides so nothing can seep inside…  If you have any questions, ask away.

I SHIP THE COMICS via MEDIA MAIL … because of the costs of course. If you would prefer faster service, which will cost more money, please let me know before paying the bill. And I will update. It’s possible I think as a buyer, you can request faster service when you pay.

AS A GIFT TO ALL OF MY WINNING BIDDERS. I pay the insurance fee to cover the comic book during its journey to it’s new home. So you and I will sleep better while awaiting the delivery of the package. Sadly I’ve learned the few times you don’t have any, you really regret not having had any.

Thanks for checking out our auction. If you still have questions, please ask away. Good luck if you bid, and good luck with your search.
