For sale is a Marlin M450 acoustic guitar made in Japan in the mid to late 1970’s.

Not much information is available on Marlin guitars other than Marlin was a brand sold by the T. C. Eaton Company in Canada in the mid to late 1970’s. It was sold through their catalogue division.

The Marlin name was also used by the British Music Strings Ltd. Company in the 1980’s early 1990’s for a line of mostly electric guitars and some acoustic guitars.

It is likely this guitar was sold through Eaton’s in Canada.

The guitar is a copy of a Guild D25 or D35. This one has a mahogany top back and sides with an unbound rosewood fretboard.

The body binding is very well done as is the work done around the sound hole. The serial number is 180675 ink stamped on the neck block.

Overall condition of the guitar is very good with no structural issues, no cracks or breaks. Some very minor cosmetic scrapes and or scratches. The original pick guard was removed and will come with the guitar. Tuners work well and the guitar stays in tune like it should. This is a quality guitar build.

Excellent sound quality crisp and clean, with a good sustain. It has definitely improved with age. Don't be fooled by the name this is a really good sounding guitar. The guitar comes with a gig bag.
