Aria Pro II U-60T Urchin Gloss White circa.1982-84 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Aria Pro II U-60T Urchin in Gloss White finish. Built in Japan between 1982-1984, this guitar features a bolt-on neck construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 22 fret Laurel fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with Nickel hardware including a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Epiphone LockTone StopBar tailpiece along with Grover tuning machines. The Pickups are a pair of Protomatic-V humbuckers, these are wired to a 3-way selector, master volume, bridge tone and a neck tone control.

The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with a profile resembling a ‘C’,  feeling slender and providing a smooth and articulate playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth playing surface for the user to explore, along with the 14” radius and Jumbo frets making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze. The lines of the body feel great in the arms, offering a comfortable playing experience in both seated and standing positions.

The Protomatic-V humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The Protomatic-V humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition, all aspects of the headstock demonstrate moderate scratching, indentation and chipping of the finish. This is most apparent to the bass side front edge and top side. 

Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear demonstrates light indentation throughout the register. This can be somewhat felt under the thumb, not affecting the overall playability of the instrument.

Body: Overall fair condition, multiple instances of amateur finish repair have been performed to the body. This is most notable to the front face bottom edge and is noticeable from a distance. The neck pocket demonstrates two notable finish cracks. These do not appear to be in the wood and do not flex under pressure. A large section of finish has been re-glued to the treble side of the neck pocket. The bottom bass side horn demonstrates notable chipping of the finish and wood beneath, which is not currently stable. 

Condition of Frets: 

The frets show notable signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is noticeable through the entire register. There is moderate material remaining for any light fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with notable signs of use, most noticeably the saddles demonstrate notable corrosion. Tremolo arm is not included.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
