Bound volumes of Black and White Budget Magazine. Hard back binding in publisher's original floral embossed racing green cloth covers, gilt title block and volume details to the spine, gilt title lettering to the front cover. Black & White Budget was a Victorian illustrated weekly. The first issue appeared on 14 October 1899 under the name Black & White. Thereafter it continued as Black & White Budget until 30 May 1903, after which it appeared as Black & White Illustrated Budget until 17 June 1905. 
The Black & White Budget weekly magazine Issues 1 (October 1899) to 34 (June 1900). Victorian illustrated weekly keeping the people updated with facts and developments of the 2nd Boer War. The First issue of Black & White Budget appeared on 14 October 1899 and ran until 30 May 1903.
News reports of events, heroic deeds, biographies etc., full of sketches from the field and photographs - hundreds of portraits of Officers & ordinary ranks who excelled, or were wounded or killed in action.

  • This volume contains the Transvaal Special from No.1- No.13 making volume one and no.14-25 making volume 2. 1899 to March 31, 1900
  • Volume III no. 26- no. 51, April 7 1900- Sept 29 1900 (front cover damaged/stained bookseller label inside front cover)832 pp.
  • Volume 4  no. 52- no. 76, October 6 1900- March 23 1901 (back over water damaged and slight water damage to pages 791 to end) 800 pp
  • Volume VI no. 103- no. 128, Sept 28 1901-March 22 1902 (webbing visible at back hinge) 832 pp.
  • Volume VII no. 129- no. 151 March 29 1902- August 30 1902 (webbing visible at front and back hinge) 736 pp.
