The Welsh Rally by Mark Griffin and Martin Leonard.

Here we have the excellent book covering every aspect of the Iconic "Welsh".

From the inner cover "The Welsh Rally attracted the works teams and all the top drivers in it's heyday but primarily it appealed to the clubman competitor with little budget but buckets oe enthusiasm. The ingredients were simple- Classic forests, infamous asphalt, night stages, limited servicing, and LLandow".

Not to mention stage locations that could strike fear into the hearts of the crews, such as EPPYNT, Dyfi, Crychan, Hafren, Pantperthog, Rhiedol, Brechfa, Radnor and many more.

Here is the story of this fantastic event, from it's inception, through the years providing insights from the drivers, navigators, organisers and supporters experiences. These accounts provide the reader with an in depth and behind the scenes appreciation of many aspects of the events. It is a fascinating story, told by the folk who were there.

The book contains scores of quality photos, mainly the cars in action, as well as at service, the start, spectators, the aftermath of some of the "moments", and of course the crews taking part.

Running to 360 pages, this weighty tome is creatively presented, with plenty of interesting illustrations of past programmes, badges, trophies, signage, and nice touches such as the outline of the special stages against a forest background as the frontispiece.

In all a superb book for the Rallying enthusiast, an ideal gift- the lucky recipient will enjoy hours of quality reading and for those keen on the stats' there are the entry and results lists, and special stage times.

It certainly takes the reader back, after reading this you'll likely drift back to the sights, aroma's and sounds of a bygone era- we're talking Ari Vatanen at full chat through a night stage in the screaming Escort RS1800, the smell of racing oil, mud baked on the exhaust and tyres scrabbling for grip as he crackles past, Cibies lighting up the forest track, and away into the distant night, only for Roger Clark to repeat the scene minutes later....... You'll know if you were there!

This book is new, it will be carefully wrapped and sent via Royal Mail, tracked and signed for peace of mind.
