1809 Bound 1st Ed Engraved Sheet Music WELSH & GEORGIAN John Parry, Braham etc.

Please see images below description

Offered in this listing is a very rare item.  It is a grouping of original early 1800s sheet music comprised of early 19th century Welsh music and many other Georgian songs from the early 19th century in the form of original steel engravings, much on laid paper.  The engravings have nice distinct plate lines from the printing plates.  They are bound together in a beautiful modern half leather bind with marbled paper boards.  The list of music is extensive, inclulding a HAND SIGNED example of John Parry's 1809 "Selection of Welsh Melodies with Appropriate English Words"  Signed by Parry in ink in the bottom right corner of the dedication page, which dedicates the music to Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn.  Many scarce examples to be found in this binding, including an item of interest to Horatio Nelson collectors:  NELSON, The Celebrated Recitative and Air.

Approximately 183 pages total, 14 x 10 x 1 in size.  The examples of steel engraved sheet music sell for quite a bit when sold individually.  We will let the bidding process determine the value for the bound volume.

CONDITION:  The cover is in fine condition.  The contents are very good for the age.  There is some age toning of the paper and foxing spots throughout.  Some of the pages have creasing,  and the name "Caroline Hawkins" is written in ink at the tops of quite a few of the songs. There is a small bit of handwritten musical notation on the bottom margin of page 113 of "Nelson."  It appears to be in pencil. The last couple of pages each have a 1/2 to 1-inch gouge in them.  Overall, the book is in great condition for being in the vicinity of a couple of hundred years old!  Please see the many images.
