The Colorfly C4 Pro looks like a product from the past, from the authentic era of vinyl and analogue, as far as aesthetics and construction are concerned there is nothing like it on the market. The black walnut wood covers a large part of the player, giving it solidity, weight and a very artisanal touch. The keypad also reflects this certain classic touch in the design and moves away from all things tactile by opting for the controls of the "old school" amplifiers

Among the controls, we distinguish the forward and pause, up/down, and menu button as the main buttons for managing between folders and songs. Apart from these there is a button for on/off, which is done very quickly in just 4-5 seconds, the button that changes the different presets of the equalizer and finally the SRC, which interacts directly with the CIRRUS LOGIC CS8422 chip, resampling the played file to the following options: 16/44.1, 24/88.2, 24/96, 24/176.4, and 24/192.

As a DAC, Colorfly has chosen the CIRRUS LOGIC CS4398 for this player with support for up to 24bit/192kHz and a dynamic range of 120 db. It is a chip of proven quality that can be seen in many high-end computers since it also has support for DSD and PCM files, although it is not possible in this player.

The volume control is far from the ordinary, it reminds me of those used in the old equalizer of a Technics amp from the eighties that I have at home, however it is very accurate it is the pro-Audio series of the Japanese manufacturer ALPS, offering an error rate of less than 5% after 1,000 hours. In practice I have really enjoyed this type of control, allowing for a very fine and practical adjustment.

The 32 GB capacity and the expansion of up to an extra 64 GB via microSD cards ensure a good amount of stored music.
