For sale is a lovely, antique glass jar with brass or brass-colored lid. I believe this jar was for a store display. The heavy glass base is 1/8 inch thick. There is no pontil and no air bubbles, it does have that wavy appearance of older glass. It is 8 inches in diameter and is 8 inches tall. The lid is a silver-colored metal underneath, so I'm not sure if the top is brass plated or painted. I'm pretty sure the finial is brass, and it looks most like a raspberry to me. There are scratches on the lid and evidence that someone tried to polish it. There is a little circular piece cut out of the edge, and I think that was to accommodate a spoon or scoop.
