A beautiful full-color illustrated lithograph map, titled "Map of Annapolis, capital of the State of Maryland" with a detailed street layout and key to 34 different historical, architectural and natural landmarks.

In addition to the historic town, also depicted are the Severn River, College Creek, and Spa Creek. In the upper right corner is a large color image of the Maryland state seal with the motto, 'Fatti Maschii, Parole Femine' (Stong Deeds, Gentle Words). in the lower left is an attractive compass rose.

Historical sites included the Charles Carroll House, the State House, the Hammond-Harwood House, the William Paca House (labeled as Carvel Hall), and the Liberty Poplar, which served in the days leading up to the American Revolution as the city's Liberty Tree.

Liberty Trees were used across the colonies by the Sons of Liberty beginning in 1765, after the British Parliament passed the stamp act, where groups of patriots would gather for the latest news, to organize rallies, and burn hated British officials in effigy. Maryland's Liberty Tree was a Tulip Poplar which stood near the present McDowell Hall on the campus of St, John's College.

Some mild age toning and trace wear along the edges, else Fine.
