Featured here is a lot of four original Type 3 Press/Wirephotos from the mid 1960's relating to College  Basketball Coaches.

The first, an AP measuring 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 and dated 12-27-74, show four coaches getting together prior to the Milwaukee Classic Invitational Tournament; (l.-r.) Terry Holland (Virginia), John Powless (Wisconsin), Al McGuire (Marquette), and John Guthrie (Georgia). Holland coached at Davidson (1969-74) prior to coming to Virginia (1974-90). Powless was at Wisconsin 1968-75. Guthrie was with Georgia 1973-78. McGuire was the best known of the foursome and the most successful. His tenure at Marquette (1964-77), which ended with a National Championship, earned him a spot in the College Basketball Hall of Fame and Basketball's HOF as a coach.

The second, measuring 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 and dated 9-28-65, shows Wake Forest Demon Deacons Head Coach Horace "Bones" McKinney announcing his retirement after eight seasons (1957-65). McKinney, who played in the NBA with the Boston Celtics and Washington Capitals and Coached in the ABA with the Carolina Cougars, led the Demon Deacons to ACC titles and a final four appearance in 1962.

The third, measuring 6 x 8 1/2 and dated 3-30-66, shows American International Yellow Jackets Head Coach Bill Callahan (r.) receiving the New England College "Coach of the Year" Award from UPI International Sports Editor Dick Dew. 

The fourth, an AP measuring 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 and dated 5-13-68, shows Robert Harrison (center) being congratulated by Athletic Director Adolph Samborski and Team Captain Bob Kanuth after being named Head Coach of the Harvard Crimson. Harrison, who played nine NBA seasons for four different teams, served as the Head Man at Harvard 1968-73 after 10 years at Kenyon College (1958-68).
