This Motorola DS3508-SR black-and-yellow rugged handheld barcode imager scans and decodes 2D, and PDF barcodes and has an IP65-rated housing for use in rough environments. The imager enables scanning of barcodes on mobile phones, computer screens, and other glossy surfaces. An omnidirectional scanning pattern scans barcodes at different angles, eliminating the need to align the laser. The scanner has a laser dot aimer to assist in precise scanning, Motion tolerance helps limit errors while scanning and allows the user to scan objects while moving. The barcode reader contains a 624 MHz processor to decode barcodes. The Advanced Data Formatting (ADF) allows the user to modify the barcode data before transmitting it to the host computer. The imager is suitable for use with Motorola 123Scan and Remote Scanner Management (RSM) software (available separately for download). With the on-board multiple interface, the imager can connect to a host (not included) with a USB, RS-232, or RS-485 (IBM 46xx Protocols) cable, or Keyboard Wedge.
