This is a vintage Beacon Flicker Lite Freez warning. Made using a Big Beam U-C-Lite and a Honeywell thermostat. I have never seen one like this before.
There is a little bit of rust in the battery compartment, but nothing too serious. The metal is still very solid and it should be easy to clean up.
