This lovely set of porcelain pot chocolates/de crème was made in Italy by Richard Ginori, in Ginori's Mantova pattern which depicts men and women in a lush countryside setting. The colorful scenes reflect the mid-19th century trend of incorporating "naturalistic taste and Romanticism" into domestic surroundings. The edges of the lids are finished with shiny gilt trim and blue accents.

The set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Each piece stands 3.5" as measured to the top of the finial when the lids are in place.  The undersides bear green crown backstamps reading "Richard Ginori" with "Made in Italy"  and "Bonwit Teller"
