Line 6 JTV-89 James Tyler Variax Blood Red 2012 Electric Modelling Guitar

Here for sale we have a Line 6 JTV-89 James Tyler Variax electric modelling guitar in Blood Red finish. Made in Korea in 2012, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Mahogany body, Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Black Nickel hardware is fitted, including an adjustable Line 6/Tyler hardtail Piezo saddle bridge and sealed tuning machines. A pair of humbucking pickups which are custom wound to Tyler's specifications are installed, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch along with master volume and tone controls. The Piezo pickup bridge is wired to the Variax controls, which feature two 24 position rotary controls to select alternate tunings and sound models. 

The Maple neck plays very well, with the 'Tyler Fast n' Flat neck profile feeling nicely slim and manoeuvrable in the hand. This lends itself well to a wide variety of styles whilst feeling fast and articulate, perfectly suiting the 'Super Strat' vibe of the guitar. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with it's 14" radius remains nice and flat for a smooth and consistent playing surface right the way up the register. The Jumbo frets assist with vibrato and string bending techniques whilst providing a rock solid feel across the entire fretboard. 

The pair of Custom Wound Tyler humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full tones, once again delivering on the 'Super Strat' vibe that this guitar has. The 5-way blade switch and responsive master volume and tone controls allow you to dial in fantastic Super Strat tones without even touching the Variax controls. However, this is where the real versatility of this guitar lies - there are an absolute plethora of guitar models and tunings to choose from at just the twist of the control. Everything from vintage Telecasters, Les Pauls and even Gretsch hollow-body guitars are included, as well as a host of acoustic models and even resonator guitar sounds. This is in addition to the alternate tunings which can be easily selected. A fantastically versatile instrument that is just as impressive today as it was when it was introduced.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the headstock.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching to the fingerboard can be seen under scrutiny. This is not felt under the finger and does not impact playability. 

Body: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching to all aspects of the body can be seen under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the treble side of the waist, consistent with light playwear. 

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with very light signs of wear.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
