About Aviation Leathercraft

Aviation Leathercraft was founded in 1976 by Simon Green after he contacted Irvin GB Ltd to obtain extensive photographs of the original Irvin jackets RAF pilots wore during World War II. Green obtained patterns and original machinery from one of Irvin's original subcontractors from WWII and impressed Irvin with the jackets he made. Irvin agreed to license their name to Green's company, making Aviation Leathercraft the only one allowed to make Irvin jackets bearing the name.
