Finished in Valencia blue and registered on 13th September 1968 it still has its original bill of sale for the amount of £655 and all of its ownership is documented in the history file along with many other invoices and some pictures.
It starts instantly and runs well, drives effortlessly pulling strongly through all the gears, great clutch with no slip or judder, it stops in a straight line with no pulling or veering (again please see the video), handbrake is good, lights, wipers, wind down windows, quarter lights, door catches and locks all work as intended. There is no breathing from the oil filer cap and no spitting from the dipstick when running, all in all it drives really well.
Inside is really well finished in the tan colour of its period the carpets are good and the headlining, door cards and rear panels are all very presentable. Currently showing 67154 miles, we cannot confirm these as correct, but it's suggested by the current owner that he believes they are right. The tyres are a matching set all with ample tread and there's a good spare and the tools in the boot.
We have the full current logbook and an older logbook, an owner's manual, a workshop manual, a parts manual, a Haynes manual, a large number of invoices including a copy of the original bill of sale, old MOT's, letters some old pictures all contained in a chunky history file. The car is MOT exempt and the road tax is free, classic insurance should be a round £100 for most drivers over 25, parts are readily available and there are a multitude of clubs, rallies, regional groups and national for these charming little cars.
The paintwork is presentable and would be well received anywhere but it's not perfect, imperfections will be found on close inspection, collected during storage and use not from corrosion. Bright work is all good, not new and slightly aged but all perfectly fine, carpets are just ok, the front wells are not well finished but the rest are ok, it could do with a set of end caps on the white bumper rubbers, these are easy improvements. Most importantly it's all very solid underneath, again see the pics and video.
There will be plenty of Heralds to pick from, you will NOT find another with such a detailed description and in-depth demonstration video, nothing hidden and nothing to hide, any inspection welcomed, its patiently awaiting its new owner to cherish it and enjoy some motoring adventures.
