This listing is for a Rare & Highly Collectable 1979 Kay K-588 Deluxe Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar... With Regards to the photos, this guitar is kinda junk in its current form. It was not in the surf and sand. That was just a beauty shot for the guitars vanity and created by eBay’s new AI tool. I’m sure it looked real, but rest assured it was not in salt water.

Story about this guitar-

—if you don’t care skip below:

The guitar has lived a life on a small East Texas farm until the lifelong owner needed to have an estate sale. (Because he is no more). He had to give up playing several years back but he wouldn’t let his granddaughter (who I met) throw it out. We’ll she did sell it,to me. But she was very respectful with his things, and their were lots. This was the only guitar. This gentleman was over 100 and This guitar is begging for restoration. I’m not a guitar expert but I don’t see any structural damage. I could easily be wrong. It could possibly just need strings and be sound as a pound. I don’t know. Be aware that this guitar is a risk. You won’t be restoring this to make money or resell for the big bucks. You’ll be restoring it to let this gentleman live on through his guitar. That was corny. Unless you liked it. Every word is true, though. Except the spirit living on stuff. That’s between you and spirits. Not true, not false. Not for me to say.

Guitar info:

This was Kay’s flagship professional model guitar at the time(1979) & made in Korea. It has a Spruce Top, Mahogany back & sides, Rosewood Fretboard ,Nickel Silver Frets & is Celluloid Bound. I read all of that information and I’m not certain Celluloid Bound means. “They” also said The Truss Rod is easily adjusted from the top of the neck using an allen key.

For a 45yr old guitar it is in rough condition but maybe you want to save it? It would look cool on the wall at a Cracker Barrel too. Your money, no judgement here.

No return’s because it doesn’t work. If you receive it and have issue for some reason, like you didn’t read this, or it caught fire in transit, please let me know. I’ll be nice and we’ll figure out a solution. Not because it doesn’t have strings or come with strings. It does not. The pics cover the exact guitar I’m selling. Please look at them very thoughtfully and thoroughly. Decide what you will do with this guitar before you buy it. Like where it will live. Who will feed it. This guitar does kinda cost a lot to ship. I have free returns but I don’t want to pay for a return on something silly. I want you to pay for shipping on something you already love. But just know that I do offer free returns if you don’t love your item. Be sweet. Please.
