Here for sale we have a Gibson Firebird Studio in a Cherry finish. Crafted in the USA in 2006, this guitar features a set neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with a tune-o-matic bridge with a stoptail, sealed mini Grover tuning machines, along with the iconic non reverse headstock design. The pickups installed are a Gibson 496R in the neck position and a Gibson 500T in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume and tone controls.

The neck profile is carved into what we would describe as a ‘Slim ‘D’ profile, this is a comfortable profile which when combined with the relatively wide shape fills the hand reassuringly without feeling overly cumbersome.The set-neck construction and Firebird design provides excellent access to the upper register, and along with the Rosewood fingerboard and gloss finish a smooth playing experience can be expected in all registers. The weight of the instrument is relatively well distributed thanks to the mini Grover tuners making this guitar a perfect gigging companion.

The Studio T comes fitted with a Gibson 500T in the bridge which offers incredibly high gain with perfect sustain and clarity with every note. The 496R in the neck also delivers a very high output with creamy lows and mids. Both pickups provide you with plenty of sustain and warmth which sound at their best when paired with an overdriven amp. The classic wiring of independent volume and tone controls provides plenty of versatility without any complicated switching, making this instrument great for tonal sculpting to the players desired taste.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: 

Overall very good condition. Light scratching is present to the front face, most notably around the G tuning machine. All other aspects of the headstock present little signs of past use.

Neck: 

Overall very good condition. Light scratching is present to the rear of the neck, most notably on the 15th fret, this can not be felt in the playing position. Slight indentations are also present to the rear of the neck, most notably on the 2nd and 3rd frets, these can not be felt in the playing position. The fingerboard presents little signs of past use, any markings are difficult to discern against the grain of the wood.

Body: 

Overall very good condition.  Light scratching and indentations are present to all faces of the body, the most noticeable of these is on the rear face to the centre, these markings are consistent with buckle rash. There is also a small indentation on the upper shoulder on the bass side with some light scratching notable in this region.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
