This particular fine example is Vantage Dressmaker sewing machine manufactured in Japan. This is precision sewing machine. Powerful Motor. Mechanically is in amazing condition. Super heavy duty. Perfect machine for semi commercial use.

The reduction speed pulley is from Bernina. Super quality.

This is a straight machine with reverse.

This machine has been modified with two step pulley from Bernina to increase the torque 3 times. Very power full. See the quality of modification. This is equivalent of 300 Watts machine. This is a slow sewing machine around 300 stitch per minutes.

You can sew up to 18 oz leather all layers combined. For leather sewing:

Recommended needle size: 18

Recommended max thread: v 69

This is all metal machine just oil it and will last.

Disclaimer: sewing leather is a skill and requires experience. If you are a beginner you should not expect to sew leather right away. There is a learning curve to sew leather and heavy fabric. The recommend setting is based on my personal test on this machine.

You could sew thicker than what I recommend. Adversely, you may not be able to sew as the thick leather as I recommend. It all depends on your skill and experience.
